Vineyards

Harashim Winery cultivates two vineyards - Harashim Vineyard and Tzivon Vineyard. Both are farmed according to biodynamic agricultural principles.
The leading principles in this viticultural method are maintaining a developed ecological balance, minimal intervention, and supporting the life forces in the vineyard.
Every weed and flower - their existence in the vineyard is blessed and increases the complexity of the soil's organic structure.
Insects, arthropods, reptiles, mammals, and birds - we invite them all to the vineyard to maintain a balance between predators and prey.

The harvests at Harashim Vineyard are done in cooperation with the winery community.

Kerem Harashim

The vineyard is planted near Mitzpe Hoshaya, on Mount Shezor at an altitude of 860 meters, on terra rossa soil and surrounded by a dense forest.
The plot faces west and sits on a northwest wind corridor. The average rainfall is 900 mm per year.
Winters are cold and rainy with many cold spells. Snow covers the vineyard at least once a year.
Due to the elevation of the Shezor mountain range, which separates the Upper Galilee from the Lower Galilee, many clouds cover the sky above the plot even in summer.
This creates a situation of low radiation and therefore slow ripening of the grapes, which are characterized by high acidity and delicate flavors.
The first plot was planted in 1987. In this plot are mature Cabernet Sauvignon vines, and mature Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc vines planted together in the same rows.
The adjacent plot was planted in 2009. In this plot, the vines are planted densely at about 500 vines per dunam. The vines yield a low crop (1-3 kg per vine).

Kerem Tzvaim

The Tziv'on vineyard was planted in 2006. The vineyard is located at the foot of Mount Meron, at the sources of the Dishon stream, and is surrounded by natural forest.
The vineyard's elevation is 735 meters. The soil combines Terra Rossa with high limestone content, alongside stream components – alluvial deposits from Mount Meron and river pebbles.
Winters are cold with many chill hours. Summers are characterized by large temperature differences between day and night.
Cool nights allow the grapes to ripen slowly and retain their varietal characteristics.
The wind is mostly northwesterly, and the average annual rainfall is about 650 mm. The vines yield a low crop (3-4 kg per vine).
